Quick question, what is the difference between baking soda and powder?? also i saw one that said double acting?? what the heck, this is confusing... just wondering.
ReplyDeleteThey are both used as leavening agents in the recipe- helps the bread/muffin/cake to rise. They cannot be used in place of the other as they work in different ways. Double acting is what most baking powder is sold in and once added you must bake your recipe quickly(don't leave it overnight) as the reaction happens fast and the gas that is needed to raise the dough will escape and your recipe will be FLAT!
